What Thrills You

“You thrill me, Lord, with all You have done for me!”
Psalm 92:4a (NLT)

Sometimes you read a verse in the Bible, and it just sort of leaps off the page at you.  This one did for me. “You thrill me, Lord, with all You have done for me!” Psalm 92:4a (NLT) The inscription for this Psalm in my Bibles says, “A Song to be Sung on the Sabbath Day.” Historians tell us that this psalm was sung in Temple services on the Sabbath. The first few verses say, “It is good to give thanks to the LORD, to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim Your unfailing love in the morning, Your faithfulness in the evening, accompanied by the ten-stringed harp and the melody of the lyre.” (Vs. 1-3)

Then, it’s as if the Psalmist breaks out with a crescendo of praise in verse 4, “You thrill me, LORD, with all You have done for me! I sing for joy because of what You have done.” I love that kind of praise, don’t you? It holds nothing back! With a heart of gratitude, praise erupts with authentic joy!

Have you ever been thrilled by God like that?  The psalmist was.  He wasn’t ashamed to proclaim it either. We have only to take inventory for a second of all that God has done for us, and we would agree.  God delights in thrilling His children!  He lavishes His blessings on us.  What has He done for you? Those who are thrilled by God don’t have stuffy, boring worship times.  They can’t wait to express what God has done.  Verse 5 says, “O Lord, what great works you do!”  This is the kind of worship that delights the heart of God!  Never be ashamed to proclaim the goodness of God!  How has He thrilled you?  Share it, and your very life will become attractive to those around you. It will fill you with contagious joy!
