Thrilled by God!

“You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me!”
Psalm 92:4a (NLT)

Have you ever been thrilled by God?  The psalmist was.  He wasn’t ashamed to proclaim it either.  He said, “You thrill me, Lord, with all You have done for me!  I sing for joy because of what You have done.”  Psalm 92:4 (NLT)

We only have to take inventory for a second, and we would agree.  God delights in thrilling His children!  He lavishes His blessings on us. 1 John 3:1 (NIV) says, See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” Not only has He lavished His love on us by adopting us into His forever family that we may know Him, but MUCH MORE! Peter tells us in 2 Peter 1:3-4 (NJB) “By His divine power, He has lavished on us all the things we need for life and for true devotion, through the knowledge of Him who has called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these, the greatest and priceless promises have been lavished on us, that through them you should share the divine nature and escape the corruption rife in the world through disordered passion.”

Consider what He has done for you?  In verse one of Psalm 92, the Bible says, “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to the Most High.”  Historians tell us that this psalm was sung in Temple services on the Sabbath.  Those who are thrilled by God don’t have stuffy, boring worship times. It’s a celebration of sheer joy and praise! They can’t wait to express what God has done.  Verse 5 says, “O Lord, what great works you do!”  This is the kind of worship that delights the heart of God!  Never be ashamed to proclaim the goodness of God!  How has He thrilled you?  Share it, and your very life will become attractive to those around you.

Another important part of your daily devotional is spending time with God in prayer. The Woodlands Church Prayer Board lists prayer requests submitted by our members and provides a way to send them some encouragement by using a button on the page to let them know that you prayed for them. Whether you use the Prayer Board, or pray from your heart, the goal is to build the habit of incorporating prayer into your quiet time.

Need prayer yourself? Let us know by submitting a prayer request on the Woodlands Church Prayer Board.
