When You’re in Over Your Head

“When you're in over your head, I'll be there with you. When you're in rough waters, you will not go down. When you're between a rock and a hard place, it won't be a dead end— Because I am GOD, your personal God … your Savior. …” Isaiah 43:2-3 (MSG)

You only have to turn on the news to know that we live in confusing times. For most of us, the confusion isn't just out in the world - it's in our own lives.  But God offers divine direction that gives us hope and clarity even when we’re sailing through uncharted waters.  In fact, I’ve discovered God uses confusing times and the storms of life to show us how we can trust in Him.

You are not alone.  God is with you.  His Word offers us His promise that when we’re in over our head, He said, “I’ll be there with you.  When you’re in rough waters, God promises, you will not go down! When you’re between a rock and a hard place, you can take courage – it won’t be a dead end!” Isaiah 23:2-3 (MSG)How can we be so sure? ”Because I am God, your personal God, your Savior!”

Each one of God’s promises becomes an anchor for our soul that keeps us firm and secure and leads us through the storms of life.  More than just a moral compass, God’s Word offers us divine direction in confusing times!  But we must mix the truth of those promises with faith in the One who made them!

To claim God’s promises, we must pray.  God always keeps His word!  Read today’s promise again, slowly, and prayerfully.  Allow God to speak into your own confusion with clarity and direction.  You may not know exactly how everything will work out, but you will experience His peace that passes all understanding.  God never called us to take the lead.  He called us to follow Him.  As your trust deepens in how much God loves you and cares for you, a calm will quiet your troubled heart with the assurance that your Heavenly Father is watching over you.
